Cookie In The Oven

I always find time to bake cookies, cakes or anything sweet really. I end up treating myself to naughty baked goodies more or less daily and today was no different. I made these beautiful simple yummy cookies and it only took around 30 minutes, including the baking time. They are very easy to make & perfectly chewy like all cookies should be. A non chewy cookie is called a biscuit!

These are the ingredients you need:

  • 100g of sugar
  • 100g of butter
  • 1 tbsp of golden syrup
  • 150g of self raising flour
  • Cookie extras (i.e. chocolate chips)

Chuck all the above into a bowl, mix together, section into about 12 cookie sized blob shapes and once you have finished licking the bowl stick them into a pre heated 180 degrees oven. Bake them for about 12-15 minutes, I stuck them in for just about 10 because I really like extra gooey cookies.

I stubbled across this simple recipe on the BBC Good Food website and for the “cookie extras” I chucked in a lot of ginger. After they had cooled I topped them with icing sugar for an even sweeter finish. Here is the link if your feeling naughty:

So if you have a spare 30 minutes & craving something sweet and chewy defiantly give these little bad boys ago. Stick whatever extras you like in, be it chocolate chips, raisins, cinnamon, smarties anything you are craving really. However slight problem with these cookies are because they are so easy to make and taste delicious you could end up baking them everyday which makes it harder getting into skinny jeans!

…Also I will add it says serves 10, this is a lie!

Off to make a brew & eat more cookies x
